Preserving jars

I got a set of four Kilner jars – 2 x 1 litre and 2 x 500 ml at a discount household outlet for £4.00.

I liked these because it is possible to buy replacement parts – the rubber seals do eventually perish. It’s not essential to buy preserving jars of course – I have a collection of other jars I use for chutneys pickles and jams. I even keep a selection of ketchup bottles for when I make my chili ketchup, barbeque sauce or piri-piri.
